FAQ

Where are you located?

I split my time between the greater Seattle area and Central Washington. I love to drive (except in traffic, duh!) so traveling is not a huge bummer for me, ever! I just like to make sure my gas and time are covered ;) Check my prices to see how affordable a destination session can be!

HOW DO YOU CHOOSE THE LOCATION?

While getting on the same page about your session, I'll ask some basic questions - your likes/dislikes/hobbies/etc, if you have a location in mind - I'd love to hear about it! If not, I have PLENTY of locations we can discuss to make your session unique to your story.

DO YOU WORK WITH ANIMALS?

Yes! I am a huge animal lover and try not to take it personally when animals don't like me back ...but to be honest, I find that to be a rarity! The only time I've had a dog growl at me was when another dog had pee'd on me and I didn't realize it, haha - whoops! But yes, please document your furry loved ones stories as often as possible as well! I'd love to spend the day with you while you ride your horse, take your dog to the dog park, or just lounge around the house with your cat ;)

The photo above is of my own two furry companions - Kirra & Toki enjoying their off leash park time!

What should we wear?

Most important adjective to keep in mind: COMFY

When choosing outfits, remember that you'll be bending/sitting/walking...basically moving around quite a bit - so you'll want to make sure you're not only as stylish as can be, but also comfortable. If you need help putting together an outfit - please don't hesitate to ask! I can help collaborate and steer you in the right direction so that you're looking good and feeling confident when you arrive for your session!

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING OUR SESSION?

I like to get to know everyone who will be involved a bit better beforehand so that I can approach the shoot with those things in mind! I love capturing natural interactions, and this helps me better prepare for the day. My style of photography is both causal and natural, as I feel the best images are taken when your family is less aware of the camera. In this way I capture more natural moments between you instead of directing you to look, speak, or pose yourselves in specific ways. There is no need for 'acting' or 'pretending' when it comes to loving those special people in your life!

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?

I'm a Canon girl through and through. I had the misfortune of having all of my Canon equipment stolen from my home, and at that time, I considered my other options - even tested out a Nikon for the wedding I had just 2 days after the break in! But I just have a special relationship with my Canon equipment, I couldn't make the switch! I primarily shoot with a Canon EOS 5D Mark III, and use my Canon EOS 5D Mark II for backup and my second body at weddings. My lenses are versatile - Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II, Canon EF 50mm f/1.4, and Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L.
